Please click HERE to complete our short survey about your experience of worship over the last few months and to direct our thinking for the next steps - Thank you in advance!

Thurs 30 July @ 08.28

A change of gear today as we reflect upon 'Sorrow' in our Daily Worship HERE and reflect that in our less Joyful Noise.

From next week Daily Worship will come from across THiS Team and be led by one of Carolyn, David, Luke or Helen.  You will find it on the THiS Team YouTube Channel (!) but the link for that will be on the front page of our website.  We do not intend to download it to this website so it will no longer be available on 'Listen Again' but will you always be able to find it on YouTube.

Coming Back into Church

As a trial during August there will be a short said service of Holy Communion on Sundays in church at 9am.  There will be no music and only a short address with the service lasting approx. 30 minutes in total.  Our live-streamed service will continue to be broadcast into your homes at 10.30am for the foreseeable future.

On Wednesdays the church will also be open for private prayer 10am – 12noon with a short service of ‘Prayer in the Day’ at 11.45am.  Tuesday 28 July will be the last Tuesday opening and the church will not be open on Saturday 1 August.

For the service we expect that the church will accommodate between 30-40 people (depending on the number of households attending).  We don’t know how popular this service will be, but if we are full we would ask you to bear with us and we will guarantee you a place the following Sunday.  Whilst it might be good to arrive a few minutes early it will not be necessary to camp overnight (!) and very early queuing may inconvenience our neighbours and jeopardise social distancing, so please avoid that.

At the 9am service in church you will notice some differences and we would be grateful if you carefully follow the verbal instructions which you will receive once you arrive about entering and exiting the building, where to sit, how to receive Holy Communion (just in one kind  - there will be no wine offered) and other housekeeping matters.  These are all being planned for your safety and reassurance.  With continued monitoring we may need to change arrangements - please bear with us.

In line with the latest government advice a face covering should be worn, unless there are legitimate reasons not to do so.

Social distancing must be observed at all times including outside the building and please do not attend if you have any symptoms of the virus.

As the school summer holidays begin there are many resources out there for adults and children to bring God in to our everyday.  The problem is usually finding what is good and then remembering what day of the week it is!

Here are some ideas of things you may like to try:

Thurs 30 July – Sun 2 Aug New Wine is running a full programme of free activities (called ‘United Breaks Out’) and talks, teaching, worship and prayer ministry on line for all the family.  HERE is the programme and you can dip in as you choose and hopefully whet your appetite to attend under canvas next year!

Later in the summer Fri 28 – Mon 31 Aug the Greenbelt Festival should have taken place but instead they are going ‘Wild At Home’.  They are producing materials each week and you can find more HERE.

SU
Scripture Union are offering online clubs and activities and they also ran great ‘Make and Pray’ sessions which combine some good basic Christian messages with crafts and games and could well fill up a few hours of the holidays.
